An Introduction to 

China  & World  Economy 

The bimonthly China & World Economy was launched in 1993 by the Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences(CASS). It is the only English journal in China devoted to the topic of economics. The journal aims to provide foreign readers with an objective, impartial, analytical and up-to-date account of the problems faced and progress made by China in its reform and opening up. Among its contributors are many distinguished Chinese economists from both academic and governmental circles. As such, it has become a unique window on China and essential reading for all those concerned with China's development.

China & World Economy promotes and organizes discussions on the following topics:

Special Reports: Comprehensive studies by leading Chinese officials and scholars on important economic reform and policy issues.

Economic Survey: Review and forecast of China¡¯s economic situation and latest growth trends.

World Economy: Chinese scholars, opinions on international economic issues.

Debates: Clash of views among scholars and the various schools of thought concerning major theoretical and policy issues of  reform and opening up; responses to international debates on China issues.

Window to Reform: Introduction to the latest policies and their implementation, in finance, trade, taxation and investment.

Statistics: Up-to-date statistics on China's macroeconomic performance, trade, FDI and other important economic indicators.

Foreign Enterprises in China: The journal will feature the investment strategies, operational secrets and economic returns of foreign enterprises in China.

Book Review: Reviews of famous economic works in publication or scheduled for publication.

China & World Economy invites contribution of articles by foreign as well as Chinese scholars.
